One medium of music that has withstood the test of time so far is the LP. Not only have record shops selling them, noticed a surge in sales, but more and more turntables are being made for them as well – and not just plain jane ones either. The EAT Forte is one such turntable that looks like a part you would find in your car, rather then play a 45. The Vinyl Mat is made from recycled vinyl records (you know the ones you threw away when you got the cassette deck) and holding the record in place is a clamp. There are also magnetic feet, belts made out of silicone string, and a digital display to watch the RPM’s move as the record plays. Lastly, the EAT part of the name is implied by all the moving parts of this device eating and absorbing the energy into the EAT Forte, in order to give a one of a kind playback experience. The EAT Forte retails for €12,400(U.S. $16755.60) in piano black or Zebrano add an additional €500 ($698.15) for Premium Makassar. For that kind of money I just may take out of storage my Sesame Street record player.
