We just recently posted about two very fashion forward phones from Sony Ericsson and Nokia that will be released soon. However it seems that no one told the manufacturers of this big bee-like block of a phone to get a clue. Available at Bamford & Sons, the JCB Toughphone (AKA the Sonim XP1) is not made to look pretty at all but instead resembles a Tonka Truck or a plastic Walkie Talkie. This industrial strength phone can take on dust, shock, water, and constant dropping. Internally the phone has bluetooth, Push to Talk, and dual speakers that are loud enough to hear conversations over any digging of bedrock. To its credit, the toughphone is also available in black / black, black / red, black / blue, black/ green or black / gray choices, but even those colorful options don’t do much to redeem its rugged looks.
