We didn’t know that anyone was actually still using Windows 3.x, forget the fact that Microsoft has been issuing license for the software until this very day. Windows 3.x made its debut in May 1990. I myself have fond memories of painter, and using my first CD-Rom drive with Windows 3.11. But dammit, you mean to tell me that Microsoft has continued issuing license for this OS until November 5th, 2008? Support for Windows 3.11 ended in 2001, which is also pretty hard to comprehend. It turns out that Windows 3.x has lived a healthy life all these years as an embedded system which powers devices like ticketing systems and in-flight entertainment systems. We’re almost as sad now as when we heard that Clippy had passed on. Almost.
